(I am aware I owe some people replies and mails and stuff. Will get to it, hopefully tomorrow. BTW, people vaguely interested in Stuff Happening in My Life may want to log in, I made some posts in the last few days.)

(I'm sorry about the silence here, btw. RL things are complicated, and also, tumblr ate me.)

Okay. New, i.e. as yet unpictured dishes since the last food-related entry:

I've been remiss in my foodblogging. Well, I'm getting close to the point where there just isn't that much food to blog about anymore, unless I wanted to repeat myself. And in the last few weeks, I've been eating particularly uninterestingly, from a blogging point of view: on most days, I either had asparagus risotto (already pictured here), or pasta with asparagus, or pasta with spinach, or pasta with asparagus and spinach, or pancakes (also already pictured here), or sandwiches with store-bought hummus (not pictured, because sandwiches aren't blog-worthy). Right. So, after the lazy soup that ended my last entry, I made "Kirschmichel", a baked, sweet dish made - in my case - from semolina, milk, eggs, almonds, sugar, and cherries. Read more... )

Yesterday's lunch: vaguely American pancakes. Because they're a good way to get rid of leftover milk-derived stuff - cream, sour cream, yoghurt, a mix of any and all, you name it, anything goes; it's an extremely forgiving kind of batter:Read more... )

Millet, carrots, leeks, fried in a pan with leftover tomato sauce from Tuesday's pasta, and some cheese.

I really enjoy being able to take the time to feed myself properly at the moment.

I did threaten to turn to food blogging, didn't I? Well... I couldn't resist the charms of today's red cabbage, that most fractal-looking of vegetables (aside from romanesco broccoli).Read more... )

Couldn't find my camera, fortunately. Or this would have turned into a food blog, here and now.

May still happen, of course.

How can parsnip soup in a cheap Woolworth bowl be so pretty?

Maybe I just was extraordinarily hungry. Food always looks prettier when you're hungry...
