hmpf: Cole and Ramse from the show not actually called "Splinter" (Hmpf)
[personal profile] hmpf
[livejournal.com profile] carenejeans and [livejournal.com profile] jinxed_wood: who are you guys? It's not that I mind having you around, I'd just like to know if I know you, maybe, under another name, and how you stumbled across my LJ, and what made you decide to friend me? I may decide to friend you back, but at the moment, I'm slightly mystified...

I do feel vaguely honoured to be deemed interesting enough to be watched, though. ;-)

Oh, hey... and what exactly happened on the 10. of November last year that made a bunch of - according to usernames like "remuslover" and "canisetlupus" - Sirius/Remus fans check out my homepage? As far as I can tell, they all got there via the LJ of an LJ user named [livejournal.com profile] narcotized whose journal, unfortunately, is friends only, so I can't check out whether I was recommended, disrecommended, or whatever. I know none of these people, and I can't think of any reason they might have to look at my site, except, maybe, to read my single Harry Potter fic, which I don't think anybody around here but [livejournal.com profile] ballyharnon and [livejournal.com profile] selenak has read (and which I have not received feedback on from any of the mystery guests). I certainly don't mind people visiting my website, but I'd *really* like to know what happened that day to make so many people suddenly take notice of what is usually one of the more obscure sites on the net. ;-)

Er, hi. *waves*

Nah, you don't know me, I'm fairly new. And so far, I only have one pseudonym! One! Hah!

I don't really remember why I friended you, because I have a memory like a sieve, but it was probably because you said something fascinating in a comment to someone on my friends list. Or someone on my friends list pointed to one of your posts. At any rate, you came to my attention in that "walking through the woods without leaving a trail of breadcrumbs" way LJ has. No doubt Highlander/Methos figured into it somehow.

I'm harmless though. Heh heh heh heh heh. *g*

I am not writing a lot about Methos anymore these days. My main fandom these days is Farscape. Which, btw, you should check out if you haven't yet. *g* (Sorry, I'm an evil Farscape pusher.)

I do have the occasional general fandom reflections to offer, though. Thoughts about what we do, how we do it, and why we do it. Stuff like that. So if that's your thing, you may find something interesting in my LJ occasionally.

I have the feeling it was a post of yours on "general fandom reflections," that got me to your LJ, because I'm a sucker for those, I mean, yes, that is my thing. *g*

Just saw your post on organizing your memories section and glanced through it to see if anything rang a bell, but it's late and the screen is wavering (gah, I'm up at 1:00 a.m. again, and I have to get up at 7:00 a.m. to embark on a road trip. Of course, I'm not driving... good thing!). But I noticed the entry on Miles Vorkosigan -- I *love* those books. I've read them all *coff* far too many times.

Just a Highlander fanfic reader and writer, I'm afraid.

I stumbled across your essay, 'Man with Long Coat', a while back, and liked it - been there, done that, if you know what I mean. When I created a live journal a couple of weeks ago, I went trawling through the other journals (I'm nosy that way). I spotted your name at beej's LJ and it rang a bell. End of story, really.

jinxed_wood is my only pseudonym; so no, you haven't come across me before, my fanfic tends to fall into the PG13 category (for the chopping off of heads).

A rather boring breadcrumb trail, come to think of it; maybe I should have made something up!

Damn, I forgot the extra 'e'. It's beeej, not beej.

I've friended you now.

Must warn you, just like carenejeans above, that I am not very active in HL anymore. I do write the occasional fic, but since I'm the slowest writer ever, 'occasional' means 'every other year'. Literally. Writing-wise I mostly concentrate on Farscape these days, and even there I'm not getting any stories properly finished.
(Know Farscape? If now, check it out, 'cause it's the best thing on TV and it figures prominently in my LJ *g*)

Anyway... welcome to my friends list. :-)

Oh, and I'm glad you liked the essay.

Do you remember where you found it? Was it on my website? I'm always eager to know how people find their way to my stuff - especially since very few do so!

Actually, I adore Farscape - and gaped in disbelief when I watched the slice and dice ending. I hear they are now doing a mini-series but, as I live in Europe, it might be some time before I get to see it.

As for your essay, I did read it at your site but I can't seem to remember what link I followed to get there - if I remember, I'll let you know!

Farscape

Yeah, they're filming at the moment - for more info, check out http://www.watchfarscape.com. Four parts, in production since mid-December, until sometime this month, as far as we know. Rockne recently thanked us for the campaign, although he was bound by legal issues not to mention what he is actually working on at the moment. *g* If you feel like writing the occasional letter for the campaign, you can subscribe to the mailing list at watchfarscape.com - they will tell you when there's a new To Do List. Even if you don't have the time or money to participate a lot - every little helps. :-)

I'm in Europe, too! Where are you?

I live in Dublin, Ireland; Farscape wasn't shown on any of the indigenous channels here, I watched it on BBC 2 (ah yes, the joys of cable).
