hmpf: Cole and Ramse from the show not actually called "Splinter" (Default)

www.allabouthmpf.com now contains 173 files, 56 of which are graphics, and has a total size of 4,8 MB (I think. Not quite sure how to find the relevant data in my FTP program.)

clanmacslow.allabouthmpf.com consists of 105 files and has a size of 1,8 MB.

fstreffen.allabouthmpf.com consists of 33 files and has a size of 0,4 MB.

That means I'm using a total of 7 MB of my alotted 50. Lots of space for expansion! *g*

Addendum: just took another look, and saw that I had overlooked one folder, the size of which was 1,3 MB. So, I'm actually using 8,3 MB. Not that it matters.

How much are you using?

And did you notice that we have about 13 MB worth of log files in our account? Maybe we should do something about them...

A little above 6,5MB if I read my FTP-client right...
Most of those with 6MB are the galleries, of course.*g*

What so much of logfiles? I haven't looked at them often. Is there the option to delete those to clear some room?

I don't really know what they're for, and I wouldn't like to delete them unless I'm absolutely sure they're unimportant.

Maybe it's possible to download them, but then, I don't know which program one might use to look at them.

Oh! How typical for me not to think of that...*hits head* You are right, of course.

Hmm, what format is that? Will go have a look.

Log files usually don't count against your quota. They're usually owned by root and not your user account. You can download them but not delete them. At least that's the case for the 3 providers I have webspace from (I own 4 domains).
You should definitely download those logs. They usually have much more information than the preprocessed stats providers offer through the web interface.

I *LOVE* evaluating log files. They tell me exactly which links people followed to get to my site, which search engine queries they used, which sites link to my pages, how long they looked at a certain page before moving on, etc. The information you find in log files can be interesting, embarassing (usually for others), exciting and intriguing.
