I just spent an hour or more on ICQ with AnduraNova, surfing ebay and various sex shops for an orange-red latex skirt and top to dress AnduraNova up as Sikozu at the Bochum comic fair. Dashan will dress up as Chiana, I will be Zhaan, Nager will be Stark, and Bettina will be Scorpius again. You wouldn't believe how many hours of shopping - or rather, hours of searching for things without much success - go into each of these costumes.

But we will get to meet Virginia Hey. In fact, we'll have breakfast with her. And she'll probably think us total nutcases for appearing in full costume for breakfast, but we have no choice - the comic fair starts right after breakfast, so we can either get into costume *before* breakfast or not at all.

I sense that this has the potential to become the most embarrassing day of my life.

Hmmm... tja, wer weiß. Vielleicht werden wir uns wirklich komplett blamieren. :o( Aber vielleicht auch nicht.

Well, I think it's better not to worry too much about this meeting. Virginia Hey seems to be a remarkably gentle person.
I'm sure, I didn't feel comfortable right now as well, if I was in your position. But I don't feel comfortable with a lot of fanstuff. I can't imagine myself appearing in a farscape costume anywhere. But that's just my personal way of being a fan or better being a just-interested-one.

I've seen some pictures of some of your costumes. I was surprised how much I liked them. ;)

They weren't embarrassing. And I think, wearing them during this meeting isn't embarrassing neither (and this is an opinion of someone who usually doesn't like costumes at all). The important thing is what you make out of this situation. I have an interview with Virginia Hey in my mind in which she was a bit surprised what fans do and how obsessive they can be. But I didn't get the feeling that she was frightened by it or felt umcomfortable. I got the impression that she was at first surprised but then somehow impressed and interested. According to her statements she seems to be pretty open-minded and I'm sure that she's more interested in what you're saying than in what you look like.

I'm really not that worried about the costumes.

More about the whole meeting-a-star thing. I'm not a meeting-stars-kind-of-person. ;-) I'm really not even that interested in stars.

Es ist mir einfach nur peinlich, einen Star in seiner Privatsphäre zu belästigen. Aber andererseits, der Vorschlag kam ja wohl mehr oder weniger von ihr.

Also, da habe ich dich dann echt falsch verstanden. Ich dachte, dass du dir Gedanken darüber machst, dass ihr da in voller Montur erscheint und VH etwas "überwältigt". Ich denke, dass das Treffen sehr interessant wird - für euch und für sie. Wenn VH sich dadurch belästigt fühlen würde, würde sie es sicherlich nicht machen, denn ich glaube nicht, dass ein Treffen wie dieses zu dem gehört, was man als Star unbedingt "mitmachen muss".

So hatte ich das auch verstanden! Ich werde den Teufel tun und die arme Frau schon beim Frühstück belästigen, wenn sie eigentlich *noch* nicht am Arbeiten ist! Aber wenn sie es schon vorschlägt... oder einer ihrer Angestellten (wie nennt man Leute, die solche Dates fixieren?)

Musste auch nur kurz mal meinen Unmut preisgeben. Denn irgendwie habe ich verdammt die Hosen voll, wenn ich an dieses WE denke.

Werde heute die Strumpfhosen anprobieren. :o) Mal schauen, wie ich mich darin fühle.

Mädels, keine Panik, ihr werdet klasse aussehen!!! Und ich bin mir auch ganz sicher das Virginia das eher als ein Kompliment an sich und die Serie und nicht als 'Belästigung' empfinden wird.
Mir tut es ja direkt schon wieder ein wenig leid, dass aus der Sikozu wohl nichts werden wird, aber mein 'Geldgeber' streikt leider auch schon seit ein paar Tagen und wenn ich bedenke was ich bereits alles für Farscape ausgegeben hab hat er ja auch durchaus recht. ;)
