dune_drd visited me this weekend, to learn how to make a ring and for general geek-out purposes. A great time was had by all (I think), and I'm seriously considering replacing my LJ catch-up plans with a general invitation to my flist to come and visit me so we can catch up in person instead. Not everybody at once, of course. ;-) It'd be like an extended flist convention, spaced out over several months!
I'm much better at being a host (and jewellery making teacher!) than I am at reading my flist regularly. Even if I did forget to givedrd_dune a towel.
