Really, really bad cancer scare.
Jan. 25th, 2008 03:56 amOr at least I seriously hope it's just a scare.
Worst I've had so far, I think. 'Six symptoms out of ten' bad. Going to see my doctor first thing in the morning, i.e. in about four hours. Don't think I can sleep tonight.

I know I know I know...
Date: 2008-01-25 03:48 am (UTC)It's just... it's my number one fear, always has been. By quite a margin. And... well. Some of the symptoms are fairly specific. And it's a really common form of cancer, and a fairly deadly one - at least by the time you actually notice symptoms.
Anyway... thanks.

Date: 2008-01-25 07:32 am (UTC)I didn't mean that. It is just, that once you know for certain it is cancer, you need all your wits together to fight the disease. Thinking about it, mulling away over it in advance doesn't do you good. Cancer, even though it is a physical illness, also has everything to do how your mind is set up. Your mental make-up comes into play as well when fighting the illness.
It is good to go see a doctor, it needs to be done. But until you have the definite results, you need to get mentally prepared ... not in the way of OMG I might have cancer - woe me but in a manner of It could be cancer and I'll kick its ass if it is. You'll need all your mental power if and when the diagnosis is cancer to get you through the therapy, whether it's just chemical + ray treatment or surgery + chemo/ray therapy.
