(of the Endless) sending official messages through someone like Matthew? I have a very vague memory that there was a scene like that somewhere, but can't remember.

He'd probably introduce his message with something like "His somnolence Dream of the Endless (etc. etc.), to XY". But I want to check before I go and invent something like that.

Also, he may have a different style for talking to normal people (and he's talking to a non-supernatural normal human being here). Also, I guess, "Daniel"'s style may be quite different from the old Dream's. Damn, I'm not knowledgeable enough about this...

Need to reread everything, I guess.

(But I want to write about it *now*!)

Anyone know a good Sandman community? ETA: Actually, if there's anyone here who *really* knows their Sandman, and wouldn't mind discussing it a bit with me, I'd really appreciate that so, so much.

The Sandman/LoM crossover thing has just grown to around 2,500 words - nearly four pages - and it feels barely started.

I've written another half of a scene, so the scene I talked about earlier this week is practically done now. And I'm just freaking out because a fic with *so many words* (and that's before anything even really started happening!) just feels like it must have far too much *padding*, to me. But that may very well be because I'm just not used to writing longer fic.

But I constantly think, "no, no, this can't be right; this thing *can't* just grow like this; this can't be good enough. This is probably all just weak, unnecessary filler, and I'll have to cut all this stuff in the next round of editing. Or at the very least replace large parts of it with something stronger.

(Which is probably true, really, as this current scene is largely dialogue and my dialogue always sucks on the first round, and needs a lot of refining before it feels natural and in character.)

Also, I really don't even have a clear idea where this story is going (other than that it's obviously all about Sam Being Dead, which is what most of my LoM fic tends to be about). So it feels weird to write any dialogue right now, because... how can I tell if it's even "on topic", if I don't know where I'm going?

Arrrgh.

Oh god. They're a *plague*. Or maybe an addiction.

(I should be off to bed now, really. But I'm so hyper because I wrote *half a friggin' scene*!!! In one evening!!!)

Remember that lurkers' account I created, so some RL people could read my locked entries? Well, I just noticed that the friends page for that entry actually doesn't go back before the date of the creation of the account. So, even though I have the account friended, the people using it can't see any locked entries that are older than that. That wasn't the idea, really! In fact, most of the locked content that they might be interested in is older than that. Is there any way to make the older locked entries visible to that account? If not, that really sucks.

Also, the friends page was full of spam from several LJ accounts that apparently LJ now sets as 'friends' for everybody who starts a new account. Hate to say it, but LJ really sucks a bit these days, apparently. :-(

I sure wouldn't have expected that in 2012, I'd be watching/listening to band interviews from the early nineties while folding my laundry.
