läßt seine besonderen Gestaltungen auseinanderfallen, denn das Auseinander ist die Form der Natürlichkeit." (Hegel)
What the *frell* does that sentence mean? I know I probably shouldn't get hung up on one sentence, but this one is so devoid of any kind of understandable meaning to my poor limited mind that it just really annoys me. I mean, I could make some sort of sense of the text up until then, but this is where it gets incomprehensible to me. And no, I can't translate it into English - to translate it, I would have to understand it at least a little bit.

Date: 2005-01-30 10:19 pm (UTC)Oh, I'm not required to really understand Hegel in general, thankfully!
Date: 2005-02-13 02:40 pm (UTC)It was a class in American history, and the Hegel bit referred to the western expansion.
Heh. It's nice to see you around here. :-) I still need to catch up with your LJ, but yours, I must admit, is one of the few I've been really afraid of: there's so much substance there, I fear it may take me months to really catch up! Maybe I should just jump in at the present point, instead of trying to catch up with everything...

*surprised*
Hey, what happened to those automatic online translators that made the funniest random arrangements of words?! They managed to translate a sentence like "Die Katze ist in der Kueche./The cat is in the kitchen." into something totally random.
This is not a proper translation (I guess...I hope! ;) ) but it's so close to the original version that it's still frighteningly confusing.
*disappointed*

Did I help you to understand Hegel? *g*
Prost!

Not helpful, but amusing nonetheless. *g*
