Big Website Update
Jan. 8th, 2005 02:49 pmNew: the Misc. Fic Page! http://www.allabouthmpf.com/misc_ff.htm
New also: German versions of my It's Walky! and Zebra Girl Christmas fics:
http://www.allabouthmpf.com/familienportrait.htm (It's Walky!)
http://www.allabouthmpf.com/familienportrait_illus.htm (the same, with links to pertinent strips)
http://www.allabouthmpf.com/zebragirl.htm (Zebra Girl)
English versions will be up when beta'd.
Also new, and rather embarrassing: part three of my truly ancient work in progress, Flaking Paint, my first fic, started in 1999. Contains bad history, and my Methos voice is very off, but it also has some bits that I rather like, so I decided to upload it anyway. And these flaws are true for the two parts that have been online all along, as well, anyway. I'm not going to link to this, as it's too embarrassing. If you're curious to see how my writing has developed, go find it yourself. It's not that hard to find. ;-)

Methos fanfic
Date: 2005-01-12 01:04 am (UTC)Flaking Paint ... I'm not going to link to this, as it's too embarrassing
found it anyway, and it's not embarrassing at all. =) The Methos in the present may not be your typical Methos, but his voice / characterisation worked for me nonetheless. I really love the childhood part! Don't know about any historical in-correctness (and don't care in a well told story), I think you dealt with the problem pretty smart by not giving too many details, so there's enough room for interpretation (but then I'm not a history pro)
I also read "Endure" - wow! I love AU's, especially in outer space (even if I usually prefer the more optimistic ones); this is not a 'nice' story, but very powerful, very moving. At the end I was ready to agree that someone had to do the UNTHINKABLE. *sniff*
And the formatting is very fitting - makes it very easy for the reader to empathize with Methos... *g*
Hope you don't mind that I friended you?
Eva :-)
Wow!
Date: 2005-01-12 02:52 am (UTC)Seriously, I love 'Endure', it's my favourite out of all my Methos stories, but I always thought I was the only one who liked it. It gets next to no hits at all, according to my website stats (something like one or two hits a week), and no feedback, so far. And it's been online for a year at least, I think.
It's not an AU, really, though. Just a future fic. It's supposed to be about 5000 years from now.
Oh, and just for the heck of it...
Date: 2005-01-12 02:55 am (UTC)Oh, and thanks for the feedback on Flaking Paint, as well. It's not quite abandoned, but it's very much on the back burner now, I'm afraid. But, not entirely abandoned. And, since I'm studying archaeology now, maybe the history will get better. *g*

Date: 2005-01-13 10:19 pm (UTC)*awwww* they can't be shown often enough =)
For liking that story (and telling me so) alone you deserve, hmm, let's say a dinner invitation or something! ;-)
I may take you up on that if I'm in your area... *g*
I'm usually a very lazy reader (as in very seldom giving feedback), so I can understand if others do neither... but I'm a bit surprised that you got no feedback at all for "Endure", as I think it's a kind of controversial story that would cause some comments. Are you posting your English Highlander stories on any mailing list?
"Flaking Paint"... It's not quite abandoned, but it's very much on the back burner now, I'm afraid
ah well, I'm patient; and besides, in Highlander Fandom one gets used to thinking in the long term ;-)
