Another project I've resurrected
Feb. 5th, 2010 12:27 am(aside from FS vid reccing, and finally getting more frelling job applications done, and the epic task of catching up with forty years of Doctor Who, that is):
I'm actually, for the first time in eleven years, trying to learn properly about web building. I've done everything so far with the very basic HTML I learned back in 1999 when I built my first website. (My current website is actually the... seventh, I think, that I've built since then - not all were for myself.) You can do quite a lot with very basic HTML, but I've always wanted to take the next step. I did start to learn about CSS a bit, back in 2000 or so, but abandoned it.
Well, I'm working my way through SelfHTML now, to get a solid grasp of current HTML standards, and finally learn to use CSS, too, and I'm going to rebuild my website as I go along, for practice. (I'll probably upload the fic section of the old website in the meantime, though, so the most important part of the site won't be MIA for months.) And when I'm done with learning HTML and CSS I'll (*crosses fingers*) tackle some of the more advanced stuff, like beginning to learn about PHP and MySQL so I can be a somewhat more useful admin at The Collators' Den.
