More on chess boxing
Aug. 13th, 2004 01:02 amIn this interview (http://www.chessbase.de/nachrichten.asp?newsid=3268) the 'inventor' of the World Chess Boxing Organisation cites Enki Bilal as his inspiration. (There's some scans from Froid Equateur, as well - oddly, in Japanese.) And I assume that Bilal got the idea from the kung fu movies.
Apparently, chess boxing (as it exists now) started as a bit of performance art but now the artist seems to be rather serious about establishing it as a real sport... We live in a strange world...
