My hair...

looks like something that grew on a tree in the rainforest.

I love it. I want to keep it like that forever. It's like I was always *meant* to have green hair.

I *need* to find a more permanent kind of dye. This will not last very long.

I had bright pink hair once... It looked amazing on me, but the Tigger hated it. It wasnt even pink.. it was more a fuschia. Such a deep intense colour that most people thought it was a wig. I would love to see your green hair though.

Did you bleach your hair first? That's the first step to more permanent hair colour. It doesn't have to bleach your hair white or anything, just start stripping the colour from it.

In the US, I swear by Special Effects, but I'm not sure if that's available there.

I want .... pictures! :D

I'm glad you like it. It sounds lovely, too.

Oh yeah, and the links to my pictures should work again next week. The main server of our host died, but they should get a replacement on Monday. Let's hope that this will indeed be the case.

I didn't want to be blond after the green washed out. Also, I wanted exactly the effect I have achieved, with the original brown shining through. The result is something I've decided to call 'bog body green' - it looks as if algae have started to grow in my hair. It's still brown, but with a tinge of green that varies in brightness, depending on the colour of the hair beneath (my hair varies quite a bit in colour). It's quite bright in the sun, and almost completely brown in the dark.

I really don't like the look of green on blond; it's too bright and too even.

Does it really last longer on bleached hair? Does the bleach change the structure of the hair or something? Can I bleach without actually changing the colour of my hair much? Because I really like my hair. I mean, I like the green even better, but since there is simply no chance of that lasting forever, I don't want to change what is underneath it.

Oh, and Special Effects is not available in Britain. Or at least I think so. Actually, I've found a website that sells it, but they have only one bottle of green left, and it's very expensive.

When I'm back in Germany I'll have to find a new brand again, anyway, I guess.

Oooooh!

Bah! You make me feel like a wimp for sticking with lemon juice and sunshine. But if you're still up for coming to visit me in a week maybe I'll get to see it...

Scapekid.

When're you gonna get around to posting pics? I wanna see this now!

'cause I'll only be able to join you guys after work, that is, sometime around half past seven, realistically. :-(

Actually, there may be a problem with that visit. I have just remembered today that I actually do have a set date to return back to Germany, and it's earlier than I would like. I'll have to leave on the 8th, due to a convention on the 9th. Since thanks to that I have no lost the opportunity of doing stuff in and around Birmingham in July (I had originally meant to stay a week or so longer) I will have to squeeze as much as possible into the next four weeks. However, since I'm going to lose my room at around the end of the month, I still need a place to stay between that and the 8th... unless of course I leave earlier, but I don't really want to do that... ;-)

Could you put up with a temporary housemate in early July? If not, I can still find some time on a weekend, but I think the July option sounds like more fun, and I probably won't be able to do a weekend *and* the July thing.

I'm planning to keep dying it. It's just such a great look!

Problem...

my camera decided to give up its ghost today. Also, the colour is so dark that it's hardly visible if the sun isn't on it.

But I *will* find a way of documenting this for posterity, I am sure. I want a picture for myself, after all!

You know... if you stay at the BBQ long enough on Wednesday, you just might see me. I just won't be able to make it there before, say, seven. :-(

:(

Perhaps you should try turing your camera into a zombie?

I won't be staying at the BBQ until late because I'm going to another society's formal dinner at 7.30pm, so i'll have to leave with enough time to get back to my flat, shower, get changed and get to the place where the dinner is.

Hmm. Perhaps we could demand that John take pictures.

Hmm, that's a challange - still I'm sure we can think of something to follow it up with if the need arises

Well, bleach is hard on the hair, so unless you're very committed to very green hair, then no, I wouldn't recommend it. But for all the punishment that hair takes when it's bleached, I have found that colour tends to finger for very long amounts of time.
