Surreal moon.
Feb. 24th, 2004 01:37 amWent shopping in the city centre today. We had the most surreal sky tonight - all black, except for a thin bright sickle of a moon and one star. Just one, right next to the moon. Strange, but beautiful. Like something in a movie.
Or in a comic, maybe.
The city was spectacularly ugly in the dark, in parts. I walked around for a few hours, although I didn't have the time, strictly speaking. But the contrasts were so amazing, I just had to. Maybe I've read too many comics lately, but it all looked like straight from the pages of some urban nightmare comic. Ultra-modern facades and dingy back alleys. Building sites and broken neon signs. Dilapidated high-rise buildings and modern light sculptures.
