Jealous of the bench's position. If I ever get around to sorting out the kitchen (and I'd like to; it's driving me crazy not being able to use either of the sewing machines), I'd be on the table opposite from the window (I could put it on the counter by the window, but then I'd need a high chair to sit on, and there'd be no legroom. Blah blah blah, poor me).
Bet you've got a nice view out of there, huh? Also do you need to be near a window because of fumes when you're working (I know little about gold/silver smithing, but I know there is occasionally some nasty stuff involved).
It's in the kitchen because that was the only space left in the flat! :D
My actual goldsmith's workbench, where I do all the stuff that involves (occasionally) noxious fumes, is in the bedroom, actually. :D - Likewise because that was the only space - except for the kitchen - where it fit. And since I don't heat the kitchen in the winter, I preferred to have the bench in my bedroom, noxious fumes or no. Generally speaking, I work so rarely that any fumes don't matter very much. Also, there's a window there, too - and the fumes aren't that bad in general, anyway.)
I sympathise on your kitchen/sewing machine troubles. Ah, the joys of being creative without actually having any dedicated space for it...
Fair enough. I was kind of guessing but then I thought, "Oh, what if...?"
That's kind of how I work - most of the time I'm in my room because my stuff's there because that's where there's space for it.
Hee, thanks. I thought you might; I know you've had space related troubles in the past. I just really need to get my act together, empty the table, and get rid of the bottles underneath it. Sounds simple when you say it like that (but the priority re: cleaning is the living room right now *sigh*). I'll manage it one day! I just wish I felt more energetic!
