hmpf: Cole and Ramse from the show not actually called "Splinter" (Default)

at lifein1973 rather than on my LJ - even the feedback from people who don't usually visit that community? I got like a million comments there - and exactly zero here. Note: I'm not begging for more comments; got enough positive feedback to last me the next five years. (Feel free to add to the heap, though, if you want to! :D) But it's a bit odd that none of it was posted on my LJ, so I'm just wondering if my story actually appeared on my LJ when I posted it. There was some weird hiccup during the posting process, initially, although afterwards it looked fine to me.

So... you guys who commented at lifein1973 but got there via my LJ - was the fic actually visible on my LJ/on your friends pages?

(Heh. If there *is* some kind of crossposting bug, of course, this post also may not turn up. Hmm.)

ETA: @ knowledgeable DW users: are there known crossposting bugs? There's been at least one previous case where I'm not sure if something I posted on DW actually turned up on LJ properly.

I think (and am hardly an expert on LJ customs) that generally people post on comms linking back to their journals when they want the comments on their journals? So the people who wouldn't have commented otherwise commented on the comm because there was no reason for them to click through to your LJ, and perhaps the others who do know you did as I did and followed their example out of a sense of...well all the other comments are there, why not mine too? I sort of didn't want mine not to be seen by people so since there were overwhlemingly more comments there, I went with that option. If the comments had been split I probably would have commented on your LJ. Though this makes it seem like I put more thought into where I was going to comment than I actually did. ;)

Well, I wasn't wondering why people from the comm didn't comment here - it just struck me as strange that people who in the past usually commented here suddenly commented there instead. kernezelda and you and tryfanstone, mainly. It just seemed a bit unusual - and since there had been that hitch during the posting process it just occurred to me today that my post may not have showed up on LJ when I posted it to my DW journal. There might have been a delay, and maybe - if a delayed post appears at the timestamp it got from DW - it appears buried way down on people's friends pages when it finally does appear? Just trying to find out if there are glitches like that with the crossposting process.

Hey. :)

Humpf, I thought about leaving comments both there and here. The reason I went for there was because you were so happy you linked twice! (It was lovely to see.) That way, too, you could have all comments in one place.

... but I'm perfectly happy to comment again here... ?

No, lol, seriously, no need. I was just wondering if the post had somehow got lost! I don't really care *where* the comments are!

I commented at lifein1973 because that way, my praise is more "public" and more likely to be seen by other readers. I'm happy to repeat I love it, though. Great title, too (which I forgot to mention there;)).
