today, when I looked at The MAD Doctrine again, the last bit of the ending felt superfluous. AS THE LAST BITS OF MY ENDINGS ALWAYS DO. Jeez, really, I should just automatically cut the last couple of paragraphs or so of ever fic right after writing them, because experience demonstrates that in 99% of the cases, they're not really doing the story any good. It's kind of hilarious how it *still* takes me days or weeks to realise this on my own, every frelling time.
