Need to book soon: if I booked today, I could get a (one-way) ticket to London for as little as 44 euros!

ETA: What's the weather like in Britain in August vs. September? I need to decide whether to put the conference at the beginning, end, or in the middle of my stay...

Date: 2011-06-07 08:01 pm (UTC)Obviously I am Very In Favour of you coming the UK in any capacity. ;) I will Get To Where You Are at least briefly if at All Possible if you can't come to Cardiff! :D
As to weather and stuff, honestly, I wouldn't like to predict. August is hotter than September, generally speaking. You're a bit more likely to get good weather in August? But honestly, it's Britain, it'll probably be raining. :( This year the weather has been very changeable.

Date: 2011-06-07 08:03 pm (UTC)EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!
Date: 2011-06-07 08:12 pm (UTC)Thanks for the hug; I reciprocate. (How's that for an oddly distanced expression of virtual affection? ;-) Rather like my RL hugging style. Seriously, though: much, much love. Even though I still haven't managed to send you my present.)
So many questions for you, actually. I need to get this Skype thing figured out: I want to talk to you! Sadly, it seems like it always gets superseded by the "SRS BSNS" section of the To Do list. Arrgh.
As I'll actually be travelling - for the first time! - with some disposable income, I think I should be able to make it to Cardiff easily. Or, if I really wanted to save money, I could just have my 'official' holiday somewhere in Wales, too - that way I'd be in the general area already. Not like it isn't an exceedingly pretty part of the country, after all!

Date: 2011-06-08 10:15 am (UTC)Though, of course, this is the UK, expect cold and rain anyway...
If you let us know when you're in London, I'll try and scrape up some of the LoM fandom reprobates for a little meet, if you're interested!

Date: 2011-06-08 08:01 pm (UTC)I'd love to see you again, but sadly I haven't got much disposable income myself right now, so...if you're Oop North, we could arrange to meet somewhere but if not, no worries.
Would love to make it Oop North!
Date: 2011-06-12 09:38 pm (UTC)Hmm... I really *should* go to Manchester for a few days, if at all possible. Speaking of research. I need to get an impression of the place, for my fic! ;-)
Well, the conference is on the 9th and 10th of September.
Date: 2011-06-12 09:42 pm (UTC)(Not quite sure about the rest of the fandom, as I'm still afraid I may not manage to be entirely civil if the topic of 2.08 should come up, LOL! Though I've mellowed a bit on that over the years. But just a bit.)
Awesome!
Date: 2011-06-12 10:02 pm (UTC)August sounds better, then.
Date: 2011-06-12 10:17 pm (UTC)Re: Would love to make it Oop North!
Date: 2011-06-15 09:37 pm (UTC)My mum said it's a pity we can't offer to put you up for a couple of days (we just don't have the room, I'm afraid. Also we have a cat, and you're allergic, aren't you? That would not be fair to you).
Re: Would love to make it Oop North!
Date: 2011-06-15 10:51 pm (UTC)Also, I'm small, so I don't require much space. ;-)
Not that I'm trying to impose myself on you or something... ;-)

Date: 2011-06-18 07:56 pm (UTC)Oh, I know you like cats - mentioning to mum that you were allergic but liked them led to a lot of sympathetic noises.
Seriously, I'd let you in the house in its current state, but I think mum gets embarrassed by it. I honestly wish I could promise you some floor space, but it's not looking likely right now.
