I think quite possibly my LoM fic would benefit from my immersing myself in early Bowie.

Especially the current story, as that's, in a way, all about some psychological subtexts of the 1970s/1980s. I've just done a leeetle bit of listening on youtube and reading around on Wikipedia and, as a couple times before, am struck again by the resonances between not just LoM-the-show and Bowie, but, more particularly, Sam and Bowie - even Sam-in-my-fic, who isn't really the Sam of the show, and Bowie.

Maybe I should put a couple of Bowie albums on my Chrismas wish list. Though I was kinda hoping I'd be able to finish this fic before Christmas. ETA: <-- This is not a promise.

BTW, I realised, recently, that not only do the songs I need for that one scene have to fit the situation AND be consecutive on the same album - they also have to be on the same side of the record! Arrgh. This is getting more and more complicated...

Do you happen to remember what the songs you mentioned in that one conversation we had a while ago were? You said there were some you thought could fit. I could probably check them out on youtube...

I'll email you for your address (although I should have it somewhere? Never hurts to be on the safe side though) and try to get them done as soon as possible and sent (possibly something to do while I am grinding in one of the three games I'm playing right now, lol).

I do! I remembered it this morning walking to the bus stop! However, I'll need to actually listen to the CDs again, because looking at the titles, it does nothing! (heh) Sorry, I feel so lame saying I'll do it and then not. But if I'm getting out stuff to copy, then I may as well listen to some of it at the same time, right?
