should I finally go ahead and make a Twitter account?

Pro:

One of the things I could imagine doing for money is communicating on the internet. Twitter is kinda unavoidable nowadays, so I should probably know how to use it. (Ditto Facebook.)

Contra:

Too many time-eating things in my life already, *especially* on the internet.
Also, it might kill my blogging dead.

Decisions, decisions...

I probably won't used it unless you're bored. I usually avoid it. :/

Facebook is eeeeeeeeeevil! Don't do it! *ahem* Just my thoughts.

On the other hand, Twitter's all right. Provided you can think of stuff to post on it.

I'm actually already on FB -

I just don't use it. But I have an account. I just think maybe I should actually go and spend some time there, because a lot of the people I met during my internships (as well as the organisations/institutions at which I interned, themselves) are on FB. I'm there under my real name, and I'm trying to get into the 'professional online communications' field, so I think maintaining an active presence on FB might be... beneficial.

As for Twitter, well, I think I should know how to use it, too, for professional reasons. Don't have an account there yet, because I honestly don't know what I would do with it...

Fair enough; same is true of me actually (although not for professional reasons). You're probably right, though. Everything I come across these days (TV, news, radio, etc) has a Facebook page.

I just chat garbage on my twitter because I don't generally have interesting or exciting things to say. There'd be no harm in name-sitting or whatever, though, I should imagine.
