I just noticed that postings I made before September 2002 are terribly difficult to access - the calendar only goes back to January 2003, and the 'previous 10 entries' feature goes back to September. Is it possible to change that without getting a paid account? Or, alternatively, is there at least a way I could download all my frelling entries since I started this journal to my own computer, in order to have archive them myself? I'm not using a LJ client 'cause my computer is having issues with it - I'm using the posting interface - but if there is any way to save my older entries, I'd really like to know.

Well, I haven't tried it yet, but according to the LJ FAQ you can download all your entries here: http://www.livejournal.com/export.bml. You can only do it month-by-month, though, so it might take a while...

Why do you say the calendar only goes back to Jan 2003? I see it going back to Jan 2002. Have you found a way to fix the problem or did you just overlook the Years box at the top?
If the suggested export function doesn't give you what you want, I could mail you a mirror of the actual HTML pages. I have a nice recursive downloading program that should be able to do that easily.

The former layout didn't allow you to go as far back in the calendar as this one does.

I like the new layout better anyway. I especially like the new colors. The old colors were UGLY.

They fit the colours of my user image. Plus, I like grey.
