Aeryn songs: It's probably too late, but have you considered "Warrior of the Wasteland"?
John/Rygel: How about the HL title song ? You know - "Here we are, born to be kings, we're the princes of the uuuuuniverse"...
And hey, SOMEONE sooner or later has to do a Scorpius vid to "Sympathy for the Devil".
The Jossverse vids are on their way.
I agree that John still has a basic set of ethics; however, he can go against them at times.
Good point about Sirius really meaning to kill Peter Pettigrew; still, he didn't. (Suddenly I have flashes of Harry yelling "Sirius! I want him to live!") BTW, one of the annoying things about MWPP stories is that they tend to leave Peter out altogether or present him as someone who was obviously bad from the start. Of course, if Peter hadn't been a trusted, integrated part of the gang, and a real friend, Sirius' and Remus' reactions wouldn't make sense. Incidentally, Peter is the first example of a Gryffindor gone bad, which is something of a relief. (I dislike the ideas of kids having a determined fate at age 11.)
Absolutely agreed about the non-harmlessness of Sirius' teenage prank. Snape could have died, and it's awfully tempting to go with the fanfic speculation that the fact that from his pov, Sirius and Remus had been trying to kill him and gotten away with it with no more than a "boys will be boys" slap from Dumbledore might have added to his becoming a Deatheater.
