@ space_oddity_75, re: chat/LoM
Mar. 25th, 2009 08:05 pmI'm ill - just a cold, nothing serious, but with a bit of a fever etc. - & at my parents' place, where, although basic internet is available, something as sophisticated as running an IM client still isn't possible, grrr arrgh.
So, no chat this week, probably. Sorry! (Have been working a bit on fic, though - still very stuck on the latest, sadly, although a couple of smaller problems have been solved. Anyway, I should mainly focus on my exams now, and for the most part I do. *sigh*)
(Would have e-mailed, but I don't have your addy here with me.)
I may have some time for a bit of a chat next week, when I'm back home.

Date: 2009-03-26 12:39 am (UTC)Thanks and hello and hugs back!
Date: 2009-03-26 02:51 pm (UTC)HOW ARE YOU DOING? *WHAT* ARE YOU DOING? (I'd check your LJ if I had the time, but I don't, my dad wants his computer back - also, last I checked, you weren't updating a lot...)

Date: 2009-03-26 09:35 am (UTC)Hopefully, things will get better in the next couple of weeks, and I can get back to my normal routine. *fingers crossed*
I've been mindficcing like crazy, though, and have probably come up with a suitable end scene for my post-atomic fic, so I can't say this stress overload has only brought negative stuff into my life, after all. ;)
Talk to you again as soon as my life is less crazy.
Take care!
Eeeeeek!
Date: 2009-03-26 02:46 pm (UTC)I hope that both you *and* your mother-in-law get better soon!
Also: sleep is important! Can't you tell the people who are waiting for your translation that there was an emergency in the family and that you're ill on top, and ask them to wait a few days so you have a chance to get better? Generally speaking, it's never a good idea to try working at full power through an illness - though of course I understand that often there are external circumstances that are, well, intractable. But, really, how much good is it going to do your customers or your business (or your family, for that matter) if you collapse? And this sounds like a collapse in the making!
Though, hey, at least you're having a good time mindficcing about nuclear war. That's good. :D
Hey!

Date: 2009-03-26 03:35 pm (UTC)My client is a really nice person and told me to take my time with the translations, so I've sent him the one that's already finished and am working on the remaining two without fretting. Hopefully, everything will be done before the weekend.
The only problem with my mother-in-law is that she's a very active kind of person, even at her age, so she hates sitting down and doing nothing and always tries to stand up and walk around to do the usual chores even if she's not allowed to. She's driving us crazy! I hope I survive the next few weeks... ;)
Anyway, things seem to be getting better on all fronts, so I can't complain too much, can I?
What about you? Hope you're feeling better soon! (((Hmpf)))
Very glad to hear your hubby sent you to bed! :-)
Date: 2009-03-30 05:59 pm (UTC)My cold wasn't very serious. It was a bit odd, to be honest. One day of really bad sore throat and ear ache, followed by a day of nearly no symptoms, followed by a day of fever, followed by a day of nearly no symptoms, followed by another day of fever, this time accompanied by the sniffles, followed by - you guessed it - another day of nearly no symptoms. WTF, body? Anyway, it seems to be receding now. I hope that the increasing stress of the exams preparation phase won't bring it back.
