Good news, bad news, cats, numbers
Feb. 16th, 2009 04:19 pmGood news: I have finally found a perfect chocolate in Germany.
Bad news: It's even more expensive than Green & Black's.
Random news: Everything is better with cats. Even novels. Case in point: Marge Piercy's He, She and It, which benefitted hugely from the sudden appearance of two ten week old kittens in it, who are now mentioned regularly, even when they do not advance the plot. I suppose there's something sad about the fact that I go into 'cat squee' mode even just *reading* about kittens...
Anyone here have any experience with allergen-desensitising treatment? Because I think I really, *really* have reached the point where I need to get a cat.

Numbers:
Thesis: 44,300 words. Unfinished.
LoM fic I mentioned recently: 1,650 words. Unfinished.

Date: 2009-02-16 09:13 pm (UTC)But I found that just over-the-counter medication like Benadril really helped me out. That said, another over-the-counter medication - Claritin - did nothing for me. Apparently anti-hystamines (spelling?) are weird like that and what works for one person may not work for another with little reason behind it.
So I guess unless you've already tried this, my first suggestion would just be to try different sorts of over-the-counter medication to see if that made any difference to your levels of reaction.
And in my case at least, if I had to stay in an area that provoked this reaction for a long time, after a couple of weeks, the reaction reduced down to a normal level and I didn't have to take the medication anymore.
But...I don't actually remember if that's anything like the allergic issues you have with cats...
YOU WILL KICK THAT THESIS' ASS! :)
