It would be so nice to hear about the discovery of an unexpected negative feedback, or a known negative feedback that turned out much stronger than expected, or even just a positive feedback that was much *weaker* than expected, for a change... but the pattern is depressingly monotonous: every few weeks, there's another piece of news about this or that positive feedback turning out to be so and so many times more powerful than previously expected, or this or that greenhouse gas turning out to be so and so many times more powerful/more plentiful in the atmosphere...

I always kind of enjoyed apocalyptic scenarios in fiction. I never really wanted to live in one, though.
