"Spatial, social and other boundaries/structures in world-building small press/self-published comics by female authors, with a special focus on the works of Carla Speed McNeil and Donna Barr"

This may be the topic of my thesis. Hurrah.

It only took me four fucking weeks.

Best of luck

Four weeks? That's less time than it takes to get paid by a lot of publishers, including newspapers -- by a long shot. Congrats!

Errm, that was four weeks to settle on a topic, not four weeks to write the thesis. At that pace, I'll still be writing my thesis years from now! (Ideally, i.e. officially, I should have settled on a topic four weeks *ago*, but... well, neither your works nor Finder are particularly easy to 'get a handle' on! ;-))

Writing the thesis will take the next five months - the due date is the 30th of January. Or at least I hope it will only take the next five months. There's an option to extend it by two more months, but those would be taken out of the time I get to prepare for my final exams, which make up two thirds of the final grade, so it's not a good idea to actually take that option, no matter how necessary it is. Better to just rush the thesis a bit and get a slightly worse grade on that than to risk getting bad grades in the exams. I'm rather afraid I won't be able to finish in five months, though - I'm an incredibly slow writer, and I will probably only really be able to start writing about a month from now because I still have some research to do - so there will actually only be four months for the writing phase, which is... far, far too short, at least for me. *panic*

BTW, I meant to send you an e-mail after I received the Amazing Box of Comics from you, months ago, but my mind's a sieve this year (even more so than usually; and I'm not good with this kind of thing even in non-stressed conditions...) So, rather belatedly: thanks! The package arrived marvellously quickly. :-)

Help?

You'll settle down and it will start flowing once you get into it. If you need help, remember that my work really only has one demographic -- people with a little more education. I really don't make up anything in my work; it's all based on actual events, people, things I've actually seen or heard.

For example, in the Desert Peach episode, "Lady Luck," the evil things that come out of the mouths of military men about women are all quotes; I've heard every one of them from soldiers about women, including about women soldiers. This is still going on today. What the Peach has to deal with as a gay man has not ended today. Stinz's time in the army is based on my time in the army.

And I'm glad you enjoyed the Box O Books! :)

Hm.... maybe that's a good beginning hook? That all writing is autobiographical, no matter how fantastic -- it's all out of the writer's own experience, one way or another.

Uff....

...klingt schrecklich.

BTW: Tee/Kaffee & Kuchen? Palmengarten? Nächste Woche?

Jaaaaaaa!
