hmpf: Cole and Ramse from the show not actually called "Splinter" (stay)

I'm doing that 'posting somewhat prematurely' thing again, because I'm still waiting for [livejournal.com profile] icudoc to give his final okay on my use of medical vocabularly in this (and also, I'm still marginally unhappy with some details of the poem section), but I'm frustrated with uni stuff right now and finishing a fic and *getting it out there* seemed like a good cure for that frustration. So:

Title: How to Love a Madman
Fandom: Life on Mars
Characters: Sam, Annie
Genre/type: mildly angsty shippy gen. YAFE (Yet Another Formal Experiment).
Length: 652 words
Spoilers: none
Thanks to: [livejournal.com profile] beccatoria, for an intense beta. [livejournal.com profile] icudoc, for medical vocabulary.
Dedicated to: [livejournal.com profile] space_oddity_75, with love and gratefulness.

This will be crossposted to [livejournal.com profile] lifein1973 in a couple of days, but I want to sleep on it and reread it a couple of times before I do that.

(Wheeeee! An opportunity to use my 'stay' icon without feeling dirty! *g*)

WOW. This is amazing, and I'm really flattered that you wrote it for me. What a magnificent present!

You made me cry... and I love you so much. ♥

This is brilliant, deeply moving - and well worth the wait for you to polish and post it. I hope I eventually see some more of your writing!

This is wonderful. Beautiful and as neuralclone said, very moving. It really was worth the wait, and I look forward to seeing it appear in the community! : )

I'm so glad you like it! :-)

Sorry I made you cry, that wasn't really the intention of this piece! (I'm not sure what this piece says about me - I mean, I wrote it with the intention to cheer you up, yet it still came out angsty... Then again... we like the angst, don't we? ;-))

Thank you!

I really hope I'll be able to finish at least one more LoM fic this year. I'm deeply in love with all of my bunnies in the fandom at the moment - but also kind of stuck on most of them... arrgh.

Thanks!

As for the wait... heh. This was the second-fastest bit of writing I've done since 2002... three months is nothing! ;-)

The waiting comment was more to do with the fact that most LoM fic appears without knowing the person was writing it, so when you would mention this piece and its near-completion, I would once again glee at being able to read it soon (especially as I loved 'starving on the jump down' so very much!)...
Having said that, I am also a very slow writer, so hoorah for 'fast' fics! ; )

You already know I love it. ;)

You weren't kidding about turning nocturnal!

(Or are you already adapting to the Korean time zone? ;-))

Well, that was late even by my standards, but yes, I am just becoming nocturnal. Not really sure why. I think it's in rebellion against...something. I think it makes me feel like I'm hiding out in my treehouse and refusing to come in for dinner.

Petty acts of rebellion can be very soothing in terms of reasserting some sort of control? Especially when your entire current life plan consists of moving to the other side of the world largely because...it's the other side of the world? And when you're living out of boxes and trying to keep your husband sane because he keeps having flashbacks to living with his parents?

It's...interesting. ;) I mean, I'll be okay, but I think that staying up until 4am isn't really a problem in the scheme of things. And yeah; I see from your date stamp that you agree. :p
