at least ten years. It's a big, heavy, usually very expensive thing (they can cost well into the thousands of euros - the one I linked to is a cheap import model), so I didn't get one, but it really *is* a crucial tool to have for a goldsmith. Well, and yesterday when talking to my old teacher I mentioned my rolling mill cravings to him and he just happened to have an old one he wanted to get rid of. It's a cheap model, too, but it's barely been used and seems in good shape, and I trust him not to sell me crap. I got it for 280.
Now if only I knew where to put it in my room... *g*
