hmpf: Cole and Ramse from the show not actually called "Splinter" (Default)
I locked myself out of the house yesterday morning. Locking yourself out on a rainy cold morning in a new town where you know nobody, wearing insufficient clothes, and being without your mobile phone or money or an umbmrella: not fun.

Went to the office, had a totally unprofessional cry in the secretaries's office, borrowed money for breakfast, went back home when my landlords were back. (They have a spare key for my flat.)

Thankfully things got a bit better after that.

Today's a holiday which I've mostly spent sleeping, and unpacking. Unpacked fan stuff and art supplies today. Want - badly - to read my flist, and paint. Haven't wanted the latter in years. Maybe I'll do some of the former later today.

Also have big cravings for writing, and knytting. Haven't worked on my Knytt Stories level since autumn or so.

Also beginning to go quietly mad from lack of outlet for environmental activism. Especially in view of some of the recent news.

***

Discovering new Radiohead stuff: still a joy. But my store of as-yet-unlistened-to b-sides and stuff is running low. Soon I'll be reduced to waiting years for something new, like everybody else.

I love you guys.

Oh, also:

A Fire Upon the Deep is still amazing. Yeah, I know I'm a decade or more late for this particular party...

This book reminds me why sf - when it's really good - gives me a mental rush like nothing else.

I need to read more stuff like this.

(It fills me with a strange kind of pain, though, because at the moment I don't really believe in the future anymore. And yet I still wish for us to reach the stars so much.)

The first line of the lyrics is "I'm stuck in the TARDIS". Clearly this song is *screaming* to be vidded. Has anybody done it?

Good song, too. (Granted, currently there's only a handful of Radiohead songs I don't particularly like.)
