I think a spider just abseiled onto my desk.

Saw a shadow out of the corner of my eye and, although what I usually do when that happens is freeze so I don't scare the beastie (because that makes it harder to catch it), it was kind of close so I kind of jumped a bit and of course managed to make it drop onto my cluttered desk and disappear. If it was indeed a spider and not some odd, slow flying thing. Or a hallucination.

Very nervous now. Ugh.
