Well, let me begin by saying how much I love the fic in this community. In other places, only about 10% of what's posted fits my personal criteria of fic that I'm really interested in; here, so far, it's been 100%. So, yay!

But there's just not enough of it! ;-)

Which is hardly surprising, seeing as there's less than thirty of us staunch Anti-Rainbows here. There's only so much we unhappy few can produce in a couple of days. *g*

So, I thought, why not at least give readers a glimpse of the shape of things to come? Readers will have something to look forward to - and can, if they enjoy some bunny or other, perhaps even cheer on the author a bit. (I can't promise that that will *help*, certainly not in the case of someone as pathologically slow as me, but, you know, it probably can't *hurt*.)

So, uhm... yeah. Introduce us to your plot bunnies here! If you like.

Errrr... this wasn't supposed to go here but here. Shouldn't be posting when I'm so frelling tired.

Okay, I'll bite.

WIPS:

1. The end of the Psycho!Sam-atic Cycle. You're just going to have to trust me here when I say it's mean and nasty. It's due to be finished round the beginning / middle next week and I'll post up links to all the parts once it's up.

2. Written on from the event we don't like to speak about, I've got a fix-it fic where Sam finds his way back properly. It's mostly done. The major sticking point is I have to now rewatch the last four minutes to make sure I've got them right in the fic - it starts off there. (Warning - not crack!fic. I know, unbelievable, but true!!!)

3. Then there's the ultimate psycho!Sam fic, which has been bobbling round my head for months. I've got some of it written, not a great deal, but it deals with the whole question of if 1973 is just a figment of Sam's imagination what happens when his mind starts to fragment...

4. The Simms. Huge cross-over fic: Sam's back in 2007 but can't cope with Manchester and arranges to transfer down to London where he ends up working with a certain DCI Bell. In the meantime Danny Kavanagh is working on a construction site and has seen some strange things. The police don't take any notice, but a journalist (Cal McCaffery) does. In the meantime, Mr. Saxon is trying to win an election. Can Cal, Danny and Sam stop him before it's too late??? (For some reason, and I don't know why, The Doctor has to go via Manchester circa 1973 to pick up Gene. Once I've worked that out, then I'm going to be happy!)

Bunnies

Hmm, just been bitten (thanks,

hmpf) by the idea of Sam and Death having a conversation. But which Death? I could have more than one. Bill and Ted's Death, perhaps (*pictures Sam and Death playing Risk*). Monty Python's Death - at the seventies dinner party Sam did have the salmon mousse, but Death can't claim him because he's already dead. Terry Pratchett's Death - who would be approving because Sam likes cats and curry. Obviously Neil Gaiman's Death, who would be sweet and understanding and *nice*.

But that lead to another bunny bite. Discworld cross-over where Sam jumps, but lands on the Discworld, rather than in 1973.

And then, of course, there's the four-way cross-over fic of doom - Top Gear / Doctor Who / Stargate SG-1 / Life on Mars. Due to a convolution of events a bunch of folk end up in the wrong shows and the wrong bodies. I've got a huge trailer for it somewhere, but I won't post now because I'm sure you've all seen it!!!

Wow, your bunnies are *insane*! *g*

Especially love the idea of the Simms, although that's of course going to be total crack. Or is the Doctor going to have a proper explanation for the weirdness, perhaps? (I like crack, but I like ideas that sound like crack but then end up making *sense* even more.)

Really looking forward to your canonical fix-it fic. I *need* a few of those, I think.

Your psycho!Sam fic sounds a bit like my Undead!Sam fic, but that's not going to be so much about his mind fragmenting as about him entering the more subconscious levels of it.

All your Death ideas sound like loads of fun. Especially the Monty Python one. :-)

The four-way crossover probably wouldn't do much for me, though, as I know nothing about Top Gear, little about Stargate, and sort of got off the Doctor Who train after the 9th Doc's death.

So far, the Stupid Ending(tm) has resulted in a creativity explosion for me, so I'm actually kind of grateful. *g* I even kind of hope that it may help me to speed up the writing process for some of my works in progress, because although some of them are difficult and require a lot of research (not to mention total immersion in things like Gene Hunt's speech pattern, which is something I have absolutely no handle on at all, at the moment), I'm really rather enthusiastic about all of them.

Well, here are my plot bunnies, by age:

#1 - born about a year ago, two pages written so far; projected length: unknown; probably long:

A story that starts with Sam dying (not by suicide but simply from complications in his coma), to continue walking his weird 1973 world as a strange kind of Undead. Basically, based on the idea of 'what if 1973 had been all about Sam exploring his subconscious and especially his ideas about life and death'. Supposed to get very surreal; may have some Sam/Annie shippiness of a slightly bizarre variety, possibly. Supposed to end in a properly cathartic confrontation of some kind. Requires loads of research about stuff that might shape the subconscious of a male British police officer born in 1969, which is the main reason it hasn't progressed far yet. Don't even know how to *start* that kind of research.

#2 - born just a few weeks after #1, two pages written, projected length: 3-5 pages.

My Pollyanna Sam/Maya shippy fic. Now more firmly AU than it ever was, set after Sam has woken up, in a universe where he's actually been changed for the better by his experiences. As I said, this is me in Pollyanna mode, blithely assuming that Sam *can* change and so on. Unashamed happy shippiness, only slightly tinged by residues of angst. Mainly Maya-centric, really - an examination of why she did stick by him as long as she did, which has now, thanks to new canon, been made more interesting by the added theme of why she might want to *return* to him after essentially leaving him twice. Yes, I know, I know...

#3 - born in, err, November last year? Mutated beyond recognition after ep 2.08 and is now my main 'fix it' AU - the one that's supposed to *really* make sense without violating canon and so on. Four pages written; projected length: unknown; long.

Premise: Sam does not die, but goes into another coma/vegetative state after his jump. Spends a lot of time happily ignorant in 1973; then, much to his chagrin, wakes up one day to find he's not dead, after all. And, because this is *my* universe now, and I like my universes to have at least a modicum of medical plausibility, yes, he's probably permanently damaged in some way(s), but that's not really what the fic is about. It's about Dealing With Stuff in a more general kind of way. Oh, and rather without a conscious decision on my part, Gene and co. decided Sam would remain with them, too, so when he sleeps in 200...8(?), he's actually back in 197...5(?), which means I need to learn how to write Gene, arrgh. It also means there'll be all kinds of parallels between 2008 and 1975, and hopefully a progression towards embracing the one that parallels a progression towards letting go of the other, etc.

This, of course, requires insane amounts of medical, psychological and 1970s research. Not to mention me building an actual plot of some kind. *scared*

#4 - born just a few weeks ago. Half a page written, projected length: 2 pages or less.

AU: What if Sam Tyler/Williams *really* never was from 2006? What if the future looks a lot more like science fiction said it would? What if, sometime in the 80s, there really *are* atom bombs over Moscow?

#5: The Plot Bunny of Death: Nothing written yet, but at least half of it's already written in my head, arrgh. More here:

Which reminds me that I really ought to see if I can expand the "Annie is from the future and she's peed off with Sam for angsting over it all the time" fic.

Will digest these further in the morning as, just looked at the time realised I'm in danger of hitting 3am for the 18th day running. Much more and I'll be permanently stuck in the middle of the night.
