Sometimes We Believe, which, arrgh, looks worse every time I look at it. amonitrate's comments are a lot of help, though. But it's tough going. Oh so tough. I still think there's a good story lurking somewhere in that mess, otherwise I wouldn't go to all this trouble. But it *is* such a mess. What makes this so difficult is that it's mostly characterisation that needs fixing. And it's *Horsemen* characterisation. I'm not good at getting into the heads of immortal mass murderers. I'm not good at getting into the head of someone as old, cunning, and twisted as Horseman Methos.

Arrgh.

dude, don't take my comments too seriously. It's a great story, that's the only reason I made so many comments. 'Cause it's worth it.

I have no doubt that you can pull it off. Take what you want and leave the rest.

You put the finger on a lot of the things that made me want to revise the story in the first place - sort of explaining to me *why* I'd felt uneasy about a lot of stuff in the fic before. *g* There are a couple of things that I disagree with you on, but really only a couple, and I guess I'll just have to get a second opinion on those, perhaps. Or possibly discuss them some more with you.

discuss away, I'd love to help. And the golden rule is always that you can chuck out any suggestions you want, that's your right as the author.

Elistaire did a great job on one of my stories, and pointed out some things that were blatently problems, but that might collapse the story if they were changed. So sometimes you just leave it be, weak parts and all, and keep them in mind for next time.
