1.) Survived whatever vile bug it was that had me feeling like crap for most of the past two and a half weeks. Still somewhat sore throat, but getting better now.
2.) Hmpf vs. Catalan Archaeologists: 1:0. Held my presentation, and it was okay.
3.) Writing: nothing new; too busy with the Evil Real Life Monster in its many guises.
4.) Beta reading, meta thinking, general fannishness: predictably, also very little progress on this front. Had some vague ideas, took some notes, but there's no hope of turning them into anything coherent before I'm back from England. I know I promised various people comments and other kinds of help. Alas, there is absolutely no time at all for it at the moment. I am truly sorry, and I hope I will find more time when I'm back from England.
5.) Watching: in what little spare time I can find at the moment - usually during dinner - I've been watching some Invisible Man (quite fun, but the "science" in it is really, really painfully bad), and I've also begun rewatching Deep Space Nine. Yes, after Methos nostalgia I'm now beginning to get Deep Space Nine nostalgia. It seems I'm cycling through all my old fandoms again.
6.) Getting tired awfully early again. Which, I guess, either means I'm sort of getting used to a more normal sleep pattern, thanks to two weeks of near-continuous uni work followed by a week of near-continuous work at my day job, or I'm still a bit ill, perhaps.
7.) Travel preparations: about to leave for Britain on Tuesday, and far too many things are still far too vague... *Really* need to organise my trip tomorrow.
8.) Nager's gone to Australia. Now I have to do all my hardcore geeking on my own.

Re: He's a spontaneous kind of guy.
Date: 2006-03-06 01:43 am (UTC)I'm travelling and working occasionally. At least that's the plan, so far i have done neihter. At the moment i'm looking into doing some fruitpicking somewhere in Victoria, because i'm in desperate need of money.
At least my English is going to benefit a lot from my experiences here. And i'm mildly confident that i'll be able to get a grip on my web-addiction.
I already miss the geeking. See you around.
I hate to be a bitch about this...
Date: 2006-03-06 09:32 am (UTC)Or, if you think you can't do it, send the file as it is to me, and I'll see if I can get Dune to do it sometime, since her English is really good and she once indicated she could help.
I'm going to beta 4.04 tonight, after I've done my packing. I'm actually sort of well prepared for my trip this time. Will wonders never cease?

Now everytime hmpf gets the flu she'll think of me. ;)

Date: 2006-03-06 08:26 am (UTC)I sympathise with the web-addiction. Three years in college without net-access in my home weaned me off that, although now that I have broadband in my dining room again I seem to be continuing from where I left off. ;)
Have a good time with the fruit picking and come back to europe someday.

I'd just like to say that I would totally read this comic.
I read a comic, by the way! Alan Moore, Watchmen. I can't remember if that was one of the ones you wanted me to read. It was great, anyway. I suspect the rubbishness of Neil Gaiman has prejudiced me unfairly against comics. I'm ready to consider them with new eyes now. *g*

Date: 2006-03-03 08:24 am (UTC)I would like to second the movement to see this as an Alan Moore-written comic... Except then it'd take *years* for each issue to be released. So maybe a David Willis drawn comic?
"Archaeology texts? In Catalan? Aww, Cheese!"

Date: 2006-03-05 10:25 pm (UTC)I know you! You're Scapekid! I think. Right? I met you once! Ahaha. May I friend you? You don't have to friend back! I'm sure we share no fannish interests in common but oh well. Unless you like Alan Moore. No-one on my flist likes Alan Moore and I've just discovered Watchmen. NOW I MIGHT EXPLODE OR DIE OR TAKE TO CARRYING IT AROUND WITH ME ON A SILVER TRAY, STROKING IT.
Well,
Date: 2006-03-05 10:53 pm (UTC)But, hey, you still share a name! Certainly that's enough reason to friend someone! *g*

Oh, and yes, I like Alan Moore, although it's been a while since I read Watchmen, it does ROCK. And yes, I remember you. You wanted to keep Captain Crais under your bed. And other such amusing things. ;)
Have you read Top Ten?
Mostly at my journal (which I'm new to) I've been blathering about BSG2003, and, um, Thundercats.
And ARGH! Really have to a) stop using Hmpf's journal to chat to other people, and b) GO TO WORK!
