Metafandom; and a question.

Maaaan, I didn't realise how much I missed
metafandom and the way it expands my mind...
And, speaking of meta - does anybody know what happened to
cathexys? I hadn't gotten around to catching up with her LJ yet and then, just when I wanted to start, it was suddenly gone. I know I've been out of the loop for ages, and I wasn't really close friends with her or anything, so I'm probably not *entitled* to know if there's something intensely private going on here, but if there is something publicly known about this disappearance I'd be really grateful to know. I liked reading her thoughts. Had a few really nice conversations with her in 2003 or so, back when I was really active for a while.

2.) We're on LJ, not at an academic conference. It's perfectly all right to just toss out your ideas in a random fashion sometimes, and then enter into a conversation with people about them. Not everything has to be academia-worthy essay writing. I rather like the less 'intellectual' discussions sometimes.
As for

Neither do I. But occasionally things come up (like, for example, the recent discussions about obsession - reasons, intensities, etc.) that I happen to be thinking about a lot already, and it's interesting to see what other people think about those things.
(Although perhaps that obsession discussion was on
