All things considered...
Dec. 21st, 2005 04:25 am... I guess I have only three 'real' fandoms, if 'fanatical' means something slightly more lasting than half a year of excitement or so.
The Lord of the Rings - 1992 to present
Methos - 1997 to present
Farscape - 2000 to present
Much as I love many things that have come since - many, many things - these are my three true fandom loves. There are many things that are cleverer, better made, better written, more intricate, more subtle, more intellectual, whatever... and there are many things I truly love. But The Lord of the Rings will always be The Book. Methos will always be The Man. Farscape will always be The Show.

Yeah, of course, but this is about 'first times', you know?
Date: 2005-12-21 12:40 pm (UTC)I also suspect that there may be a time in life when you're (or rather, *I* was) particularly susceptible to getting obsessively interested in something (adolescence/late adolescence - and yeah, I know, 24 is rather late for that...), and that that 'magic moment' may be past. I've had many minor obsessions since the last big one, but nothing even remotely as serious as my 'love affair' ;-) with Farscape. Then again, maybe the next *really* big obsession is just around the corner... I wouldn't mind, as it's always fun...
