hmpf: Cole and Ramse from the show not actually called "Splinter" (Default)
[personal profile] hmpf
The one I had such trouble preparing for? The one I thought I'd f****d up royally?

Well. I got a 1. That's the best grade there is.

Nearly died laughing when I found out today.

I still think I wrote crap in that exam. In fact, this result does not increase my trust in the German university system. I *know* when I've *earned* a good grade. I got a good few over the years I actually *did* deserve. But this, I didn't deserve. And if *my* clueless blathering was rewarded with a 1, I don't want to know what crap people who got a worse grade than I wrote in that exam!

In other news, the days are too short for all the things I have to squeeze into them at the moment, and I'm frequently too tired to get even half the things done that should get done each day. Arrgh. Unfortunately, this time the problem can't even be solved by organising my time better. There really simply is too much to do right now.

But at least I've got yet another new obsession... (That's how many new ones, then, in the last four or five months? I've lost count...)

Watch Doctor Who!

No, really: if you don't watch it, the Doctor will cry! Look! http://www.chaotic-creative.com/gallery/102-theendoftheworld/102_theendoftheworld103

ha ha
well done.

and welcome to the whoniverse (yes dr who geeks do call it that - I have a lifetime's experience on this one). The Daleks are back on Saturday.

Did you like Firefly?
Cos if so http://www.apple.com/trailers/universal/serenity/

Hope you're well.

We're actually living in a pretty good age for SF, I think. Lots of quality stuff has been produced over the last few years, and is being produced right now. :-)

Nice to see you around here - I've been too busy to check out most LJs so I've felt a bit out of touch with the larger world... and I'm even losing touch with friends who live in the same city as I, at the moment. Now *that* is alarming!

Too frelling busy, arrgh.

And to think that a couple of years ago, when the Sci-fi channel and the American networks were cancelling everything seemedly at random, everone was bemoaning the death of Sci-fi!

Well, to be fair, it would still be a lot cooler if Farscape and Firefly would have been allowed to run their course instead of being cut off prematurely.

Congrats on the great grade. *hugs*

Hehehe - the Doctor will cry will he? Aha! New hobby! Doctor torture! ;)

Oooh, and thanks again for the John Constantine pics the other night. The Punk!John one made me laugh out loud (just the predatory looks on the guys faces when that girl talks to them).

*bounces*
From: [identity profile] hmpf.livejournal.com
John truly was a fashion victim in his youth. *g* I marvel how he went from punk to tie and trenchcoat in a matter of months (as it sometimes seems), or at most a few years. Maybe he was fashion-brainwashed in Ravenscar?

And as for Doctor torture... did you see the trailer for the next ep? ;-)

Actually, I'm not much into Doctor torture. Psychological angst is more my flavour. He doesn't have to get half-naked and tied up and what not. But I guess we had to have the obligatory 'torture the hero' ep sometime... and since it's still a family programme I expect it won't get too bad. *g*

I wonder when the BBC will put a website on the bad wolf domain they bought...

I can't wait for the black painted finger nails of doom! I used to have some myself, when in my mid-to-late teens, so it will be a nostalgia trip (and, geez, how OLD do I sound saying that?? I'm only 24!). Weirdly enough though, I can't stand black nail varnish now (I used to wear all sorts of colours at one stage, but I am far too impatient to sit around waiting for my nails to dry, and so they would always get messed up. If I did 'em now, I think I'd use a hairdryer on them...)

As for Doctor torture, I haven't seen this week's episode, and not really being a Dr. Who fan anyway, I'm not so bothered. Plus, I was never really by the Daleks...

Yeah, "torture the hero" is pretty much par for the course. I shalln't ask about the naked and tied-up...Not a mental image I want to entertain.

Oooh, hey. Like my new icon? ;)

d'oh!

There was meant to be a "scared" or "impressed" in there...D'oh!

Nice to 'see' you! :-)

How are you? I've taken a quick look at your LJ (I've been really out of touch with LJ in general) - you sounded quite optimistic in one of the entries! (((Una)))

Welcome to the wonderful world of Blathering! `

I have been practicing the art of stealing high grades by writing bollocks since I was 16 and dammit, if I don't feel bad about it, I won't let you! So stop it and go celebrate by, um, watching yet more Doctor Who or something.

Cuz teh d0ct4h iz TEH MAD HAWT b1s|-|i11!!!!!!!!!11!!

Or something to that effect. :p

To be honest, I'm actively no looking forward to seeing his chest. It might put me right off him. On the other hand, desperately wanting to *not* fancy him in any way at all, perhaps I should view the chest as a possible salvation. (I'm really worried. I almost typed salivation...)
From: [identity profile] hmpf.livejournal.com
Yeah, but, you know, it wasn't even bollocks hidden behind eloquent language. It was just all around bollocks. No substance *and* no style! I still can't believe it...

Re: seeing the Doctor's chest. Hehe. Actually, I never understood the attraction of male chests. Do I take it you don't, either, or is it just the Doctor's chest you object to?

But, really, give me neck, hands or face over chest or butt any day. Way more erotic IMO.

LOL @ your almost-typo! *g*

Frell, I have to go roleplay today, so I can't download ep 6 today.

Also, frell, is it ep 6 already? Next week we'll be beyond the halfway mark! :-(

Hey, remember that fic I sent you the day before yesterday? There's a continuation of it now, which has Rose meet a version of her Doctor before he met her for the first time, or rather the second time in the universe of that fic... (gah, time travel is so confusing!) I've decided to construct my denial around that scenario. It works rather well.

err, to clarify:

They meet

- after he has died in Rose's timeline, but
- before he has met her for the first time on Earth, in his timeline.

How would you say that in Douglas Adams' time travel-adjusted version of English? ;-)

I just often find I don't like chests. Some chests are okay. But quite a lot, I'll think a guy is very nice looking, then see his chest, then think, "Meh..."

And yay, you're still roleplaying! Fabulousness. Everyone should have that hobby. Are you an airpirate yet?
