Important safety announcement!
Jan. 31st, 2010 12:25 amMy site got reinfected/hacked again - immediately after I'd done several malware scans, too! I don't know yet how to solve the larger problem here; my system is obviously compromised, despite having been completely rebuilt from the ground up just a few months ago.
What I do know is that I can't leave my site online under these conditions. I have therefore deleted it and all its subsites. I will re-upload it once I've figured out how to get rid of the creepycrawlies that must be grabbing my FTP passwords from somewhere inside my system.
Just to be on the safe side, be extra careful with any mail you receive from me, too, for the time being. I don't know if whatever it is that sits deep in the guts of my computer also attacks via mail, but I suppose you can't be too careful. So, best not to open anything you receive from me that comes with an attachment, or looks otherwise dubious in ways that you don't expect from me.
I am terribly sorry about this; especially about having handled it so badly when the problem first occurred. I really should have deleted my site right away, but I am fairly inexperienced with stuff like this and figured it would be enough to just get rid of the manipulated files on my webspace. Not so, obviously.
