ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGH

What is this 'spare time' you speak of? I think I knew it in a former life...
Seriously.
I. Am. So. Busy.
Words fail me.
In the last week I've had a visitor from England, have started uni again (and it's turning out to be a *very* busy term, especially since I have to make up for a lot of lost time now that I've changed my major), have *tried* to get some FS fansub beta work done, have made a shitload of important calls, have run a convention, have started making jewellery again, have tried to read more books at once than is humanly possible (for uni, of course), have been ill for about four days, have never slept more than maybe five hours a night, have been roleplaying (fun, but not *really* what you need right after organising and running a con)... and today I had a 12 hour day at uni. I really, really, really want my bed.
And the week is going to continue that way. Far too much uni work, another con on the weekend when I could really need the time to do uni work (at least for that one I'm only a normal visitor!) - but the con was too expensive to bail out now, and I still have to finish the fansub corrections.
Arrgh.
It's impossible for me to keep up with things here at the moment. Please, people... would you mind giving me a short update on how you're faring? Everyone, please. Or at least everyone I used to have some sort of closer contact with, in better times. I want to know how you are. I *wish* I could read your LJs, but Real Life is eating me up. Honestly. I mean, Farscape returned (and ended again), It's Walky is ending tomorrow, BSG, which I'm watching once a week during dinner, is off to an amazing start, and yet you hear nothing about it from me here because I don't have the frelling time to drool and squee as befits a fangirl!
Sad, isn't it?
Come on, guys. Just a few lines on how you are. I feel so disconnected with LJ-land. Please send me a life sign.
Thanks.

Date: 2004-10-26 11:49 pm (UTC)Don't stress too much...that's what I keep telling myself as well. October's been hellish busy for me. Did get a quick trip to England to see one of my objects of lust from way back in my teenage days of the early 80s. Other than that have been totally bogged down by college work as well...and have just taken on two new classes. And I have an old school friend and her hubby visiting this weekend and my mum coming for two weeks in a week. So sorry, I couldn't make the Farscape meet, couldn't make seeing Marcus Testory in Frankfurt (tonight) either.
I second that ARRRRRRGGGH!

Date: 2004-10-27 12:07 am (UTC)Vital stats for
Managed to successfully pass her MA Nebenfach Anglistik exam. So uni-wise it's "two down, one to go". Went on a short but great holiday trip to the isle of RĂ¼gen. Got temporarily lost while writing a history term paper on the sewers of London. Continues to strive towards a workable balance between real life and fandom so that nobody gets hurt *g*. Recently watched the PK wars. Did a portrait of Chrichton that only one person felt necessary to comment on *g*. http://www.livejournal.com/users/bimo/13192.html .Had a really nice idea for some post-PK Wars fanfic, but doesn't dare to start working on it because because of other, considerably more important writing assignments.
*sighs sympathetically*
If only the day had 48 hours... ;-)

Date: 2004-10-28 04:36 am (UTC)This weekend I have to climb a mountain, a hill, walk up some steep dunes to see some penguins and sea lions (hopefullly), go to two other beaches, walk to the (claimed) biggest tree in the southern hemisphere, watch two more movies and two seasons of red dwarf, go through the Botanic Gardens to see how my friend, the Kaka, is, and if keen, walk up the steepest road in the world.
In other words, I'm fine. Finished one of my exams today, and take the weekend off to show a friend where I live.
Wow.
Date: 2004-10-28 05:35 am (UTC)So... I guess I have to call you again... I just don't remember where I put my NZ phone card. Arrgh.
Have you decided yet whether you will grace this old continent with your permanent presence again in a while?
I miss you at odd times.
