A lesson in work safety.

I went to work at the dig today with an uncommon (for me, anyway) degree of protection. I had new, steel-capped shoes, and a new waterproof jacket.

To prove that no matter what precautions you take, something else can always go wrong, I then proceeded to whack myself in the face with my trowel and poured a cup of boiling tea over my hand and left thigh, all in one fell swoop.

Now I've got a cut under my nose (very small, but it hurts anyway), and a burn on my hand.

Neither the steel-capped shoes nor the waterproof jacket helped a lot to prevent either.

So much for being prepared for everything.

Hmmm...thnking about the logistics of it I don't think even some men of rohan type helmets would have saved you from a small cut under the nose. And even chain mail wouldn't have stopped the tea....poor you, I know even small hurts can HURT!

Oh, and it's not wrong at all that you're laughing. The injuries were too minor to be worth an entry if they hadn't been so funny. I posted them here with the express intention of making people laugh. So, laugh away. :-)

Sayuri hat es einst geschafft, Arved (Ex-Römer)einen Spaten ins Gesicht auf einen entzündeten Zahn zu hauen. Natürlich unabsichtlich.

Die Zeiten sind nicht besser geworden, seit der Mensch die Keule schwang...
