A lesson in work safety.

hmpfI went to work at the dig today with an uncommon (for me, anyway) degree of protection. I had new, steel-capped shoes, and a new waterproof jacket.
To prove that no matter what precautions you take, something else can always go wrong, I then proceeded to whack myself in the face with my trowel and poured a cup of boiling tea over my hand and left thigh, all in one fell swoop.
Now I've got a cut under my nose (very small, but it hurts anyway), and a burn on my hand.
Neither the steel-capped shoes nor the waterproof jacket helped a lot to prevent either.
So much for being prepared for everything.
