I am completely creeped out by the fact that I only got four spam mails today (as compared to between 60 and 130 per day as usual). Just in case that means that the world is about to end: it was nice to have known you all.

Maybe your provider has installed a spam filter? That's the only logical explanation I can think of.

I love being presented with good reasons why the world can't end. This is a *very* good reason. *g*

Hey, look what I made:

(Like? Take.)

I actually taught myself how to make animated gifs for that. (Technically, I have no time for frivolities like that, but you know what obsessions are like...)

Maybe all the spam bots had been getting my e-mail addy from there? Or no, wait, that doesn't make sense, cause the new page I replaced it with also contains my e-mail addy. Hm.

Anyway, I got the normal amount again today. 111.

Although it would be nice if they did, apparently spammers never clean their databases. I'm getting spam to addresses I haven't used for ages. Taking down a page with an email address won't help. I'm slowly phasing out some old email addresses, hoping that 1 year from now I can disable them completely and get a fresh start. All email addresses I'll put on public web pages in the future will be entity-encoded (e.g. "@" instead of "@"). I've read that the spammers' software doesn't yet support this. I'll also not make the mail addresses links anymore.
