5. ( ) "Hmpf, it's actually kind of interesting to read about [your latest strange obsession], since your taste isn't usually that far off from mine. I might check out [your latest strange obsession] when I come across it somewhere."

6. ( ) "Hmpf, your tastes are strange and you are rather scarily intense about [your latest strange obsession], but I don't mind occasional dispatches from your universe. Wherever that may be."

Ooh, I read the first Borrible book ages ago when I was a pre-teen, then found that there were others only a few years ago.

Michael de Larrabeiti, right? That name stuck in my head as something to scan bookshops and libraries for, before I learned of the wonderful service of interlibrary loans.

The only Gene Wolfe I've really enjoyed was the Sevran the Torturer quatralogy.

Love the Sandman. And Farscape, of course.

Apparently, some of our tastes do coincide!

Wow!

>oh, I read the first Borrible book ages ago when I was a pre-teen, then found that there were others only a few years ago.

Read them! They're actually better than the first, a lot more morally complex. And, dare I say it, even darker. And the ending is hearbreaking but absolutely *right*, you know? There's a sentence there, a few chapters before the end, that is, well, I'm repeating myself, but it's heartbreaking in retrospect.

Yes.

>The only Gene Wolfe I've really enjoyed was the Sevran the Torturer quatralogy.

That's the only I know, and I've gathered from the net that it seems to be the most worthwhile. It was the discovery of the year for me, last year.

>Love the Sandman. And Farscape, of course.

That's nice to know! Especially about the Borribles and Gene Wolfe. Everybody these days seems to love the Sandman, but these two are not as well known, I think!

Definitely option No. 5. Definitely *g*

I love Farscape and HL, keep my own carefully chosen fangirl harem and enjoy reading longwinded essays about the meta-dynamics of fandom. Having managed my own glorious short time escape from University exam hell just yesterday I also harbour a deep, heart-felt sympathy for all your reports about your ongoing academic struggles *g*

My vote! Well, yes, I never read footnotes, especially not ones that tell me that I don't get to vote *g*

And it is true enough. I mean, you got me hooked on Farscape, and then there was Highlander (shows our mutual good taste), Gaiman (even if I still haven't read the Sandman, but without you, I probably would never have read American Gods and discovered him to start with), Hellsing and ... maybe something else. In any case, I love reading about your obscure obsessions, like your latest :-) And then there's the meta! I may not always comment, but I always love reading your journal.

It was number 5 ...

... I just forgot to include it *g*

Wish I'd thought of this idea first. I dare say people get sick of me flitting from fandom to fandom. I mean, in the past three months, I've gone Matrix-Buffy-LotR-Mars/Fushigi Yuugi...

It's enough to make you travel sick ~_^

Well, maybe they do hate it, but they don't say anything. As for you, I think it's wonderful that you have this (partly, for a selfish reason, it doesn't make me feel as bad for having done the same thing on frequent basis).

I think it's brilliant. And thanks to you, I'm going to check out Finder for myself!

^_^

You know, I'm not exactly *flitting*.

Yeah, I read about that in your LJ, but I'm still busy with catching up and mostly fail to respond to other people's entries. Anyway, congrats on that! Wow, 1.0 - not bad! *g*

(I feel like such a loser compared to that! But, don't mind me. Grades aren't the most important thing in the world. I tend to forget that, but it's true, and I need to keep reminding myself of that. *g*)

Heh.

It works the other way round, too: Harry Potter slash (okay, not exactly the same pairing as yours, but still...), Miles Vorkosigan... You also introduced me to Dogma!

Flitting's not the word I mean. I know the word I *do* mean...and flitting ain't it.

But accumulation is always good. It's how I get most've my fandoms ^_^
