I filmed a couple of videos during the concerts and would like to upload them to youtube, but I'm not sure how to compress them and so on. If there's anyone around here who can give me a few pointers, that would be great.
Sorry - massively behidn on online communication (and going on holiday for a fortnight tomorrow!) but I may be able to help? Youtube's pretty good about accepting a number of formats directly and will do the compression, etc., for you. What format are they in at the moment and have you tried uploading them as they are?
And damn, you're probably in bed now. Err, have a nice holiday, in case you still get to see this before you leave? I mean, have a nice holiday no matter whether you read this or not, of course. :D
Where are you going, seeing family in the US or something else?
The videos are quicktime, I think? (.mov) - the format my camera, a canon ixus 100 somethingorother uses. They're slightly under 1 GB each, so I'd really like to compress them even just because I think uploading them as they are would take way too long. And also, apparently youtube's own compression is kind of shit?
Though I guess I could just try it, and see what happens.
