...way too much about gender recently, and compared the stuff I read with my own attitudes etc., I have decided that I must be male. I am obviously not female. I have never in my life watched a single episode of *any* soap opera.

I hate shopping for clothes and only own a few pairs of shoes. I wear them until they have to be held together by duct tape. I also don't get the mob mentality of woman, such as when using the toilet facilities. Even when using the toilet (Alone!), I don't take any more time to get in and get out than a typical man does. I don't watch ANY sports, ever, and wouldn't attend a game on a date. No, not even "so he'll like me!" I hate talking about my feelings!

But I have watched an episode of a soap opera. It was General Hospital, wayyyyy back when the "Luke and Laura" characters were just starting, and they were being pursued by a hitman for reasons unclear to me. When it became obvious that he wasn't going to kill them, I stopped watching. I'm sure that his "family" didn't take him out for his failure. "The Sopranos" was decades away from being produced, heh.

Oh... then I'm no female too. Last soap I liked to watch was "Neighbors", that Australien soap-thingy back in the eighty's. No more of it till then.
BUT I like having mans pairs of shoes, though I hate shopping.
My boyfriend loves shopping very much, he can try this and that, watching himself in mirrors... and I have to wait and being patient.
Not the typical gender roles, isn't it? *g*

I have never perceived you as a person giving much about role models anyway. But one can compare your passion for Farscape and The Highlander with the obsession other girls have for their soap operas of choice. You just decided to set your priorities different.
