Is this possible?
Apr. 18th, 2012 10:17 pmI just replaced my crappy old speaker cables (roughly 40 years old, very thin insulation, and the cables themselves are thin also, and their ends have long since corroded) with pro-level speaker cables - the kind that are used on stage, i.e. thick, with thick insulation, and of course they're not corroded either, as they're new. (Why do I have these high-end cables? I accidentally ordered them; meant to order something rather simpler.)
So, my question: is it possible that I, a non-audiophile, could actually hear the difference? Because I feel as if I can - but that may very well be a kind of audio placebo effect.
