a really quite promising HP Sirius/Remus AU that was started in 2003 or 2004. I barely ever look at that, but when I do, I invariably think, "Hey, this is actually quite promising. I'd like to read that."
Unfortunately, before I can read it I'd have to write it. And there are some important hurdles. For one, I still haven't read the last three books, and forgotten almost everything about the first four. (Okay, that's easily remedied.) For another, this thing quite evidently wants to be a novel, long and with a proper plot. Which is just not something I feel ready for - yet.
I also have an incredibly promising collection of Methos fragments that want to be a great fic but somehow fail to cohere, and have failed to cohere since 2003 or 2004.
If I ever actually manage to write/finish either of these two, they'll probably be (among) the best things I've ever written. It's quite frustrating to realise that, eight or nine years after starting them, I'm *still* not quite at a point in my writerly development where I feel I can do so.
Several other bunnies of mine are also from around that time, btw. I think 2003/2004 was when I started getting kind of good at writing, and in particular, at having decent story ideas. Sadly, I didn't also start getting faster - and still haven't. That's why all those ideas are still just ideas or fragments...
