I have a guitar.
Dec. 30th, 2011 04:00 pmIt's a ca. 1980 Ibanez western guitar, and it used to be my uncle's - who I meant to buy it from, but he just gave it to me for Christmas (and because he's thrilled I want to learn how to play).
I don't even know how to tune it.

I do count myself very lucky.
Date: 2011-12-31 03:08 pm (UTC)My uncle's a bit of a guitar freak ;-) - though decidedly an amateur. He played as a teenager, in the 60s, and then didn't play for a long while, until he bought a guitar again in the early eighties - the one that he's now given to me. He also has a Stratocaster; and he's replaced the acoustic one he's given to me with a 3000 euro handmade one of some sort (I'm not quite enough of a guitar nerd yet to remember the name *g*).
Sadly, he lives some 800 km away from me, so he can't exactly give me lessons. At the moment he and my aunt are still here, though, so I've had my first sort-of-lesson now... I can play... an E chord? Actually I think I can play E major and E minor...? Not sure about the terminology yet, especially not in English. *g*
Thanks for the offer of the CD. As the guitar has a pickup, I will probably buy one of those electronic tuning gadgets, though. That sounds more noob-safe. ;-)
Can you recommend any tutorials, btw?
