Holy frell, the pan-Bavarian library catalog I have to use for the research I'm currently doing is annoying beyond belief. It's full of, not exactly bugs, but ill-considered features that make life for anyone doing more than very basic research *frelling* difficult. Just to give you a taste, here's three of the most annoying:
1.) To narrow down your search, you have to use a number of preset filters - up to half a dozen or so. The filters you'd actually need to do an efficient search are not necessarily included among the presets, because they may not be something some librarian who set up the filters thought of. - At least you can combine filters, though, which *is* useful...
2.) If you make the mistake of clicking on a book's title in the search results list, you get taken to a page *from which you can't go back to your search results*. You have to go back to the main page instead and start a new search (and set all those filters again, etc.)
3.) Even if you don't make that mistake you still have to re-do your search and filters and so on periodically - because you get logged out automatically, and your search discarded, after a certain amount of time (not very long - maybe an hour or an hour and a half or so).
Add to all this the fact that I'm still on my frelling annoying laptop which still makes typing, navigating, clicking etc. extremely difficult, and you have a kind of perfect storm of extra annoyingness that I *really* don't need in my current, already nerve-frayed state...
(The most annoying thing the laptop/Windows 7 does to me on a regular basis? Hmm. It's a toss-up between 1.) randomly locking the cursor somewhere when I really need to use/move it, and 2.) randomly closing a window in which I've been working - preferably when I've typed a really long text and am just about to hit 'send'/'post'/etc. Of course, when the window closes, that text is gone.)
