I'd forgotten how bad the special effects and attempts as suspense in classic Who could be. Oh. Oh my.

:D

(I've decided to put a series of Fourth Doctor before the next series of Ten. A), because there are still six years of Four to watch, and B), because twenty minute eps are more compatible with my schedule at the moment. And, possibly, C), because I need a while to get over my disgust with Last of the Time Lords. *g* I've just started my second series of Four; his first I watched... six or seven years ago. That was actually my first experience with Doctor Who, ever.)

While Nine came close to equaling Four as a Doctor I love very much, the Fourth Doctor remains my favorite Doctor, and Four/Romana I/K-9 remain my favorite TARDIS team. Nothing RTD did, or Moff has so far done has engaged me as fully as that Doctor and those Companions. RTD came close with both Jack/Nine/Rose, and Ten/Jack/Martha, but in each case he made one character (Rose, Ten) someone I didn't like.

Yeah, I like Four a whole lot, too.

Or at least I remember liking that first season a lot, years ago. So overall, I'm looking forward to watching the next six seasons. :-)

What's your opinion of Five and Six, btw? I think I got your opinions on Doctors mixed up with someone else's, because I seemed to remember you liking Six or possibly Five best. I wonder who I mixed you up with, now!

Heh, I like Six more than your average Classic Who fan, or at least the average ones I've met. I'm use to being referred to as a "pervy Sixth Fancier." The thing is, while a lot of the writing for Six on the TV show was awful, Colin Baker is a beautiful human being and he's gotten great writing for his Doctor in secondary media (books, audios, etc).

Five is well written, and well liked by my mom and some of my friends. The problems I have with him aren't his fault or the writers. They are...

1) He's the Doctor that replaced Four, and no matter how nice he was that hurt. It's the same sort of strike as one of the ones Ten carried. Ten wasn't Nine, and Five isn't Four.
2) While I like the actor who played Five plenty I preferred his character on All Creatures Great and Small. Five was nice but along with not being Four he also wasn't Tristan Farnon. Not his fault, but that has been how I've felt.
