hmpf: Cole and Ramse from the show not actually called "Splinter" (Default)

This is good news, because since yesterday evening I've already found about half a dozen new bands I *need* to hear more from.

This is bad news, because I have neither the money to buy music, nor the space to store it, nor even a working CD player, really.

Arrgh.

Why is there so much frelling awesome music out there?

Why am I so frelling poor?

The station (it's a webradio station): http://www.byte.fm/

The greatest programme I listened to yesterday: http://www.byte.fm/index.php?cont=sendungen_detail&sendung=138

My favourite three tracks from yesterday's listening session:

Phantogram: Bloody Palms
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vsZ0LV-FPJg

Phantogram: Mouthful of Diamonds
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZvSgLHWR16o

Oh No Ono: Swim

Anybody know where I can buy single mp3 tracks without having a credit card? Buying favourite tracks instead of entire albums seems like a good idea at the moment. There are some songs I simply *need*.

Amazon.de and iTunes both offer the options to buy single tracks. They don't have everything, but both have an impressive selection. And you don't need a credit card. (I'm using my EC-card/"Lastschrift" for both)

You familiar with http://www.pandora.com/? It lets you personalize a radio station. You can throw in the artist or song you like, and it knew both Phantogram and Oh No Ono.

Can't say as far as not using credit cards. I use 'em for damn near everything.

Nope, didn't know about that site.

Sounds interesting, though!

I do know lastFM, but that has become more and more unusable over the last couple of years or so. :-(

I'm glad you linked Mouthful of Diamonds. I really liked that :)

I'll have to give ByteFM another listen, but I'm so out of the habit of listening to stuff while I'm on the net now...(time to change my habits, I guess ;) )

I plan to. Put it on a sticky note and all. - Should be easy enough, as it's only once a month! So the next one is Saturday in four weeks (June 26th). Yesterday's playlist is here: http://www.byte.fm/index.php?cont=sendungen_detail&sendung=138&termin=19442 I actually recorded that one. If you're interested I could send you the mp3.

*makes a note on a post-it*

If you're interested I could send you the mp3.

Ooh yes, that would be cool. As long as I'm not putting you out or anything.

Okay, I'll upload it to my webspace tomorrow and give you a link. It's 52 KB, hence a bit too big to upload at half past one at night. ;-)
