Seriously, I think I'm going *slightly* overboard, but I can't stop myself. *g*
BTW, do you know if there's a way to edit the spelling of tags? Because I've misspelled several - but every time I try to edit them, they just revert to the first, misspelled version when I try to save the changes.
No way to correct that; once a tag is created, it goes in the queue to be "wrangled" at which point it will be fixed and/or linked to the "primary" tag. You could always send a help request in to let them know that the tag is incorrect and needs to be fixed, I guess.
Does the impossibility of correcting a tag set in even before the final uploading of the story? I'm currently in the editing stage of uploading a story, and finding it impossible to correct misspelled tags even though the story hasn't been properly uploaded yet. (I'm also not sure how it happens in the first place that tages sometimes end up not being capitalised, because I could *swear* I capitalised them.)
I have no idea about that, you might contact the tech help for some answers. The few times I've tapped them about issues/confusion they were really smart on the turnaround getting back to me, and in one case, had the problem resolved within 24hrs.
The system doesn't recognize capitalization as different, so if an uncapitalized tag exists, users can't make a separate capitalized one. When you enter the properly capitalized version, the system slaps the pre-existing one on your fic. Wranglers can change the capitalization, which makes it change on everyone's fic. (And someone probably will do that eventually. We just probably haven't noticed yet, especially if it's not a major character or pairing.)
I don't know what's going on with misspellings. I assume there's some issue changing tags on drafts or something. You should be able to edit tags on an already posted story. At that point, you'd just take the misspelled one off and that would be the last you'd see of it. From the wrangler side, it will show up in the list of new tags, but if it isn't used on any drafts, works, or bookmarks and if it isn't connected (by wranglers) to any other tags, it will get automatically removed some time in the next day.
So, yes, it sets in instantly in a sense, but it's also not a big deal if you have tags with typos. Just correct what's on your actual fic and the messed up versions will go away.

(I really think "Gene Is Bothered by LoM 2.08" should be a genre.)
